Container rain is the most commonly occurring phenomena which occur due to changes in temperature when the vessels pass through different climatic zones. This leads to dampening the cargo and promoting the growth of moulds and mildew and ultimately leading to cargo loss.
CILICANT® 270 is a highly efficient shipping container desiccant specially developed to protect cargo from the damaging effects of moisture present inside containers during long-distance transportation and ocean transit. Moisture accumulation inside cargo containers often leads to container rain, cargo sweat, mold formation, corrosion, and packaging damage. CILICANT 270 effectively controls humidity by using a unique high-performance absorbent formulation capable of absorbing moisture up to 270% of its own weight, tested under standard conditions of 25°C and 80% Relative Humidity (RH).
The advanced absorption technology works together with a specialized gel formulation that transforms absorbed moisture into a thick, non-flowing gel, preventing re-evaporation and eliminating leakage risks during shipment. Unlike conventional desiccants, CILICANT 270 offers superior moisture protection and long-duration performance, making it ideal for extended transit periods across varying climatic conditions. Its leak-proof strip design contains multiple small pockets that ensure uniform weight distribution after moisture absorption, maintaining structural stability and preventing liquid accumulation or dripping inside the container.
